An optoelectronic chaos phase generator reported, which involves conventional integrated optics and optical telecommunication components. Fast chaotic behavior of the optical phase with a constant power optical is experimentally demonstrated over multi-GHz bandwidth. Application to secure optical communications using chaos is discussed, as well as generation of high purity RF oscillations, depending on the parameter settings.
