Abstract:

This paper discusses the thermally stimulated luminescence and the brightness falloff of low-voltage cathodoluminescence in vacuum for ZnO:Zn and ZnO:Zn, Si. The intensity maxima of the thermally stimulated luminescence caused by gases adsorbed on the phosphor surface are observed at low accelerating voltages. It is shown that the adsorptivity of ZnO:Zn, Si is lower than that of ZnO:Zn, and this is the reason that the modified phosphor has a longer service life. A model of the action of a protective coating is considered.
