The technical characteristics of aviation helmet-mounted target-acquisition and display systems are largely determined by the parameters of the so-called reference assembly of the optoelectronic positioning system (tracker) placed on the pilot’s protective helmet and containing a reference radiation source. Methods are discussed for expanding the range of recordable angles (the range of target-acquisition angles) and reducing the overall dimensions of the helmet-mounted assembly of the optoelectronic tracker by using a reference radiation source with a controllable radiation vector.
