This paper discusses the structural layout of optoelectronic circular-scanning systems (OECSSs) based on photodetector arrays (PDAs) that perform frame-by-frame photography of the scanning zone. The PDA operates in the snapshot regime with a constant azimuthal scanning rate. Azimuthal smearing of the image during signal integration is compensated by a harmonic scanner included in the optomechanical layout of the OECSS and operating at the frame rate of the PDA. In order to more completely utilize the photosensitive surface of the PDA and to provide the same compensation of the radial smearing of the image, the setup includes an image-rotation compensator, synchronized with the azimuthal scanning of the OECSS. One of two setups under consideration is implemented in the experimental sample of the OECSS.
