Abstract:

This paper provides an analysis of objective-lens fabrication and assembly errors that affect the quality of the resulting image and potential approaches that might be used to compensate for the effect of said fabrication and assembly errors. Various options for centering the lens components of poker-chip and stacked multi-lens objectives are examined.
