We experimentally studied the effect of back-reflected radiation on the operating mode of Fabry-Pérot (FP) laser diodes (with an FP cavity) in the red spectral range. The minimum power of the reflected radiation, which affects the operation of the laser in the single-frequency regime, was estimated, and we show the possibility of switching the generated longitudinal mode of the laser under the influence of back-reflected radiation propagating at certain angles relative to the axis of the output laser beam.
