Polarization properties of a laser cavity with a corner reflector

The folded cavity of a solid-state laser emitter formed by two mirrors and a corner reflector having a polarizer of a quarter-wave electro-optical Q-switch and, in general, an active element of the gain medium is considered. Using the Jones calculus, expressions are obtained for the transmission matrix of the indicated cavity, and the eigenvector and eigenvalue of the indicated matrix. An expression describing the polarization losses due to the mutual position of the polarizer and the corner reflector is also derived.
