Abstract:

The effect of copper and shock-wave processing of zinc sulfide (ZnS) on the spectral characteristics of a manganese-activated phosphor synthesized from it is described. It is shown that the introduction of copper and shock-wave processing of the initial ZnS lead to the displacement of manganese ions from the zinc sulfide lattice sites to the interstitial sites and to the shift of the luminescence spectrum to the long-wavelength region.
