Abstract:

This paper presents a study showing that it currently is crucial to develop binocular medical loupes based on the Galilean and Keplerian telescopic systems. The article briefly discusses the development and contemporary aspects of using binocular loupes in medicine. It determines the main requirements imposed on binocular loupes by medical workers. The main stages of developing the optical layouts of binocular loupes are formulated. The optical layouts and characteristics of proposed specific versions of Galilean binocular loupes are discussed.
