This paper discusses the features of using optoelectronic circular-scan systems with array-type photodetectors. A technique is developed for estimating the range of action of such systems, taking into account the time-varying radiation intensity of an object. The optimum scanning period of the systems and the optimum exposure time of the photodetector array are determined, using the criterion of the maximum range of detection of an object in minimum time.
