Abstract:

Subject of study. A spectral assessment of changes in enamel and dentin after office bleaching was carried out using Raman spectroscopy. Aim of study. Raman spectroscopy study of changes in the composition of enamel and dentin human teeth after office bleaching (chemical teeth whitening, which has 40% hydrogen peroxide in its composition). Method. Raman spectroscopy was chosen as the main research method. The setup included a laser (LML­785.0RB­04), a spectrograph (Sharmrock SR­303i) with a camera (ANDOR DV­420A­OE, –60 °С), a Raman probe (PBL 785) and a laptop. Main results. As a result of the conducted studies, an extended spectral analysis was carried out using the logistic regression method to assess the enamel and dentin of teeth after the office bleaching procedure. The main spectral changes in the hard tissues teeth after teeth whitening have been established. Spectral changes in dentin after bleaching are insignificant, which indicates that the used bleaching method does not affect the internal tissues of the teeth and leads to minor changes in the tooth enamel composition associated with mineralization. Practical significance. The results obtained in the work allow us to develop requirements for creating an express method for assessing the tooth enamel condition after office bleaching in invitro studies.
