This paper proposes a new method of reconstructing a pulse shape and a laser-beam profile, based on the use of integral measurements of the laser- radiation energy. The algorithm's workability and efficiency is demonstrated in the one-dimensional case, using the reconstruction of the response of an L-cystine molecule under the action of a short-period terahertz pulse as an example. For a spatially two-dimensional region, the proposed method makes it possible to obtain high-accuracy reconstruction of model beam profiles. A similar reconstruction of the beam profile based on optical tomography methods is substantially worse in the quality of the obtained laser-beam profile.
