Finite decentering of centrosymmetric planoidal elements occurs in optical systems that are purely mirror analogs of systems that contain refracting Schmidt correctors. The zero and close-to-zero focal power of planoidal surfaces makes it possible to use third-order aberration theory in the calculations for such systems. Examples are given of calculations for systems with a planoidal mirror element in the entrance pupil and close to the focal plane. The method considered here makes it possible to calculate the value of the main correction parameter of a planoidal surface to minimize the specific aberrations at the center of the field of view in systems with a decentered planoidal mirror in the entrance pupil, as well as to completely correct the decentering aberrations by means of a secondary planoidal mirror.
