The methods of collinear optics and analytical geometry have been used to find the conditions for eliminating two effects that reduce the quality of the three-dimensional image in Greenough stereoscopic microscopes: divergence of the guide lines along the vertical and curvature of the stereoscopic image. It is shown that both of these effects are eliminated for a definite ratio between the convergence angles of the optical axes of the objectives and eyepieces of the stereoscopic microscope.
