Abstract:

This article presents the results of studies on the production of high-resistance single crystals of KTiOPO4 (KTP). It is shown to be possible to create high-contrast electrooptic modulators that reliably function in pulsed and constant control fields, based on high-resistance KTP crystals grown by the Czochralski method from solution in a melt. Experimental samples of modulators based on KTP crystals and Rb-doped KTP crystals are considered, and it is shown that they can be used to implement single-pulse lasing regimes of pulsed-periodic Nd::YAG lasers with high mean power (up to 40kW/cm2), with the losses to birefringence induced by the lasing radiation in the KTP crystals not exceeding a few percent.
