Abstract:

This paper demonstrates how the degree of temporal coherence of the radiation of gas-discharge and semiconductor lasers depends on the discharge current (the pump current) and diffraction losses. Experimental results obtained by means of a Fabry–Perot etalon and an equal-arm Michelson interferometer with a diffraction grating are presented.
