Abstract:

This paper generalizes the experience of many years of using thermal vision in diagnosing isolated injuries of the peripheral nerves of the upper extremities and such injuries combined with fractures of the long tubular bones of the forearm after various intervals from the time of trauma and various degrees of impairment of their neural conductivity. Versions of the thermal pattern of vascular–metabolic reactions are studied in the autonomous innervation zones of the damaged nerves and in zones that are symmetrical to the contralateral extremity. A concept is proposed for the possibilities of thermal vision in objectivizing the adaptation–compensator response mechanisms of the damaged functional system.

Keywords:

thermal vision, injuries of peripheral nerves, symmetrical reactions, blood flow regulation, adaptation and compensator mechanisms
