Рассматриваются физические основы лазерного эффекта в жидких кристаллах. Обсуждаются условия возникновения генерации в жидких кристаллах разных типов, а также описываются низкопороговые лазеры и оптические усилители. Анализируются особенности, достоинства и недостатки жидкокристаллических микролазеров.
