This paper discusses the formation of a laser flare from aluminum at various air pressures (p=6.7–133.3 Pa). It is found that the process of forming a shock wave affects how the radiation intensity of the laser plasma depends on the distance to the target, and this is manifested in the form of the bend on the corresponding curve. The values of the distances correspond to the calculated distances at which a shock wave appears.
