Abstract:

A technique is proposed for integrating the altitude profiles of atmospheric components while allowing for refraction. Examples are given of the substantial influence of refraction on the effective optical thickness of the components on a track.

Keywords:

atmospheric refraction, altitude profiles of atmospheric components, optical thickness
