Abstract:

An analytical technique has been developed for calculating the thermal regime and the heat-induced displacement of the focal plane of a space-based telescope during transient observation of the earth and prolonged restoration to the initial thermal state in the period between pictures. The technique substantially simplifies the calculations and makes it possible to rapidly estimate the possibilities of ensuring that the telescope is thermally stable.
