A method is proposed for stable generation of powerful subnanosecond pulses without using reverse-feedback systems. This method requires no nonlinear elements inside the cavity and no external supplementary rf pulse generators in the shutter-control system. The method has been experimentally tested on a compact laser radiator based on a YAG:Nd crystal.
