This paper discusses the results of the development and investigation of a fast, high-contrast spectrometer for the diagnosis of high-temperature plasma. A double polychromator system with subtraction of dispersions that differ by a factor of two is implemented for efficient filtering of stray illumination of the measurement channels. To obtain significant dispersion, diffraction gratings are installed in a grazing-incidence layout at diffraction angles of about 70°. The device includes an entrance slit with an angular height of about 0.3 rad. Up to twenty differentzones of the plasma can be projected along the slit simultaneously, and up to thirty measurement channels can be placed in the ˚spectrum of each zone.
