This paper shows that it is necessary to take into account the orientation of the electric field vector of the generated light wave relative to the crystallographic axes of laser shutters when they are being developed and operated. The results show how the lasing efficiency of a Raman laser with polarized radiation in the passive Q-switched regime depends on the orientation of the electric field vector of the generated light wave relative to the crystallographic axes of laser shutters made from a YAG:V3+ crystal.
