This paper proposes a method of attaching astronomical mirrors that have an aperture at the center, in which the mirror is cemented by the rim of the central aperture to the bearing surfaces of the elastic lobes of a split bushing, which serves as a method of unloading the mirror from its own weight, as well as compensating the thermal strains of the mirror. The split bushing is combined with its attachment elements in the telescope via gaskets with bearing surfaces resting against each other in the mounting collar of the split bushing, and this makes it possible to avoid surface strains of the mirror caused by the clamping force of the rings.
