Abstract:

This paper presents the derivation of formulas for calculating the effective volume that connects the concentration of radiating particles with the spectral line or band intensity when measurements are made by emission spectroscopy. Formulas are given for calculating the effective volume that describe the contributions of the central and peripheral regions for an emitting medium having significant extension along the axis of the radiating volume.
