Abstract:

This paper presents the results of an investigation of the radiation characteristics of a YAG : Nd laser with intracavity scanning of the radiation by means of an electrically controlled space-time light modulator based on the transparent electrooptic ceramic lanthanum-doped lead zirconate titanate (PLZT) and laser-diode pumping of the active element at a pulse-repetition rate of up to 400 Hz. It is shown that birefringence and thermal lensing in the active element begins to show up when the repetition rate is 300 Hz.
