Optical interferometric rotation sensors are used in numerous systems for navigation, control, and diagnostics. The region in which they are used is continually expanding. It has lately become crucial to use optical rotation sensors to measure the angular motions produced by the propagation of seismic waves. This paper describes a device developed to measure the angular velocity, based on a triad of fiber-optic gyroscopes, as well as the results of experimental studies of this optical system on a test stand for producing small angular displacements.
