Abstract:

A significant strengthening of the surface plasmon-absorption resonance of copper nanoparticles is recorded in a two-layer system composed of silver and copper nanoparticles created by successive thermal vacuum evaporation. This result can be explained by the presence of strong near-field interactions between the silver and copper nanoparticles.
