Abstract:

A grapho-analytical method of optical material selection for apochromatic, athermalized objectives is described, based on diagrams of the relation between the optical and thermal characteristics of optical materials. The method presented allows for the selection of the optimal materials to achieve apochromatic correction and maintain the optical characteristics over a wide operating temperature range.
