Abstract:

It is shown that, when the residual spherical aberration exceeds the allowable value and there is screening of the central zone of pencils of light rays, the image of a point in a plane displaced relative to its nominal position has the form of a ring. Supplementing the system with a plate having a conical surface makes it possible to transform the ring into a circle with a diameter equal to the width of the ring. A method is considered for the parametric synthesis of such a system.
