Abstract:

This article discusses questions of the color distortions obtained on the television screen of an existing standard television system. The chromaticity distortions between the original and its image on the television screen are graphically shown when standard color-correction circuits are used in the camera channel of the television system. Since various television screens are currently used that have large differences of their color gamuts, the chromaticity distortions between the original and the image on a specific television screen will significantly differ when the same image is being reproduced. It is proposed to reduce the color distortions by means of color correction installed in the television receiver.
